ESENIAS representatives took part in the Third Annual Zoological Congress of "Grigore Antipa" Museum, organized by the "Grigore Antipa" National Museum of Natural History during 23-25 November 2011 in Bucharest, Romaniа >>>>

An oral presentation entitled "Recent distribution of Dreissena species in Bulgaria" with authors T. Trichkova, D. Kozuharov, Z. Hubenov, L. Kenderov, I. Botev, S. Cheshmedjiev, O. Popa and L. Popa was presented. A short presentation of ESENIAS was made - the conference participants were informed about the establishement of the network, its goals and initiated activities.

 

Several other presentations focused on IAS:
• Recent introductions of nonindigenous macroinvertebrates in West-European inland waters by Prof. Dr Abraham bij de Vaate and Myra Swarte
• Invasive species in Romania by Prof. Dr Marius Skolka
• Isolation and characterization of new microsatellite markers for the invasive softshell clam, Mya arenaria (L.) (Bivalvia: Myidae) by Ana-Maria Krapal, Oana Popa, Elena Iorgu, Marieta Costache and Luis Popa
• Current threats of indigenous crayfish species in Romania by Lucian Pârvulescu
Leptoglossus occidentalis Heidemann, 1910 (Heteroptera: Coreoidea): a new record for the invasive true bugs fauna of Romania by Cecilia Şerban
Trichoferus campestris (Faldermann, 1835): an alien longhorn beetle in Romania by Maria-Magdalena Dascălu and Rodica Serafim
Metcalfa pruinosa (Say) (Hemiptera: Flatidae) identified in a new South Eastern area of Romania by Constantina Chireceanu and Cătălin Gutue
